Education directives at the federal and state levels focus on providing avenues for initiatives such as STEM education. As a career and technical student organization , TSA helps teachers meet the criteria for STEM education goals through exciting programs that include activities, competitions, leadership, and teamwork for students. In addition, all TSA activities are correlated to the Standards for Technological Literacy, as set forth by the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association .

Only TSA members have the opportunity to compete at exciting state conferences and then at the annual National TSA Conference. Expert judging by technology and engineering educators and industry representatives inspires the best from participants. Members are rewarded not only with medals or trophies, but also with memories of the camaraderie and the challenge of participating in a National TSA Conference. Competitive events are separated into middle school and high school levels, with students competing only with their respective age group. A component of leadership is often entailed in events at both levels, with some events being devoted to leadership . Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics and Science – An annual STEM competition providing students in middle schools and high schools the opportunity to discover engineering.

IL-TSA’s mission is to inspire its student members to prepare for careers in a technology-driven economy and culture. IL-TSA teachers strive to promote technological literacy, leadership, community and school service, and problem solving to their student membership. The Technology Student Association is the only student organization in Washington devoted exclusively to the needs of students interested in technology. Our members are interested in careers in Architecture, Engineering, Robotics, Construction, Manufacturing, Film/Video Production, Graphic Arts, and many other technical areas.

Mississippi has 81 chapters with over 2500 students and advisors as members. TSA chapters take the study of STEM beyond the classroom and give students the chance to pursue academic challenges among friends with similar goals and interests. Together, TSA chapter members work on competitive events, learn and apply leadership skills, and may attend conferences at the state, regional, and national levels.

Junior Solar Sprint is a national program allows students to design solar-powered cars. Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science is an annual one-day competition where students use their skills to solve issues facing our technology in the classroom global society. TSA has partnered with the VEX Robotics Competition to allow students to design and create robots to complete specific tasks. On university campuses, high school students learn more about STEM education and careers. JSS – – This program empowers teachers, mentors and other community members to engage 4th – 8th grade youth in designing, building and racing model solar cars. Members better understand the technical society technology synonym in which we live by becoming aware and informed of new developments in technology. Washington TSA events complement classroom instruction and develop today’s students into tomorrow’s leaders. Preparing students for bright futures through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Students will be able to participate in fundraisers to help defer the cost of attending conferences. Due to an amendment to Section 1 of Article XII of the National TSA Bylaws adopted at the annual business technology companies meeting on July 1, 2016, the motto will be “Learning to lead in a technical world,” effective August 30, 2016. STEM competitions feature topics ranging from Forensic Science to Software Development.

In many events, semi-finalists move onto a second round of competition which usually involves an interview with the judges about the project. First, second, and third-place winners are awarded a trophy, and finalists are recognized at the national level. Together, chapter members work on competitive events, attend conferences on the state and national levels and have a good time raising funds to get there. Chapter organization develops leadership, as members may become officers within their state and then run nationally. Our chapters are committed to a national service project and are among the most service-oriented groups in the community. The technology articles has partnered with many groups to promote other skills.

I will make it my goal to do better each day the task before me, and to be steadfast in my belief in my God, and my fellow Americans. The TSA VEX Robotics Competition is made possible through funding from VEX Robotics, Inc. By providing opportunities to integrate and use the knowledge and skills of other educational disciplines, members become interested in learning.
